History

The Department of Ukrainian Study was founded in April, 1993.

Faculty Members

There are 8 teachers at the Department, including 7 Candidates of Historical Science, 6 Associate Professors:

  • Shendrikova, Snizhana Pavlivna - Candidate of Historical Science Associate Professor.
  • Aleshina, Nadezhda Fedotivna - Assistant;
  • Borodin, Sergey Vasilevich - Candidate of Historical Science, Associate Professor;
  • Gogunska, Tetyana Oleksandrivna - Candidate of Historical Science, Assistant;
  • Paschenya, Olena Ivanivna - Candidate of Historical Science, Associate Professor;
  • Paschenya, Vladislaw Mikolayovich - Candidate of Historical Science, Associate Professor;
  • Prokhorchik, Marina Vitaliivna - Candidate of Historical Science, Associate Professor;
  • Shautin, Pavlo Vasilevich - Candidate of Historical Science, Associate Professor.

During the existence of the department, Professors M.R. Akulov, P.I. Garchev, Associate Professors N.V. Timoshenko, V.V. Grigoriev worked here.

Scientific Work

The staff of the Department explores a theme "Political and Ethno-Social Processes in Ukraine and Crimea in XX - beginning of ХХІ Century"
The department prepares highly skilled specialists. For the last 5 years, M.V. Prokhorchik, B.V. Zmerzliy, B.V. Borodin, V.M. Paschenya, Zh.V. Kantalinska have defended candidate's theses.

Educational work

Teachers read the course of History of Ukraine for the students of the first course of daytime and extra-mural forms of studies for 14 faculties of TNU. At the Philosophical Faculty (speciality – Political Science) a course "History of Political Idea in Ukraine" is read.

Cultural and Pedagogical Work

The teachers of the Department conduct various pedagogical work with students. Since 2004 "Outing Student Club" has been actively working. Excursions "History of Salgir Park", "Orthodoxy in Crimea: History and Contemporaneity" (Inkerman, Khersones), "History of Balaklava", "Lesya Ukrainka and Crimea", etc. became traditional.
In 2005/2006 school year the teachers of the Department organized the "Student Club of Historical Film" (“SCYTHIAN”) where students watch historic and documentary films.
The teachers of the Department organize visits to exhibitions, museums, theaters of Simferopol for students.
