History

The Department was established in 1994 by Professor V.I.Donskoy.

Training of students specializing in Computer Science started in 1995.

Since 1996 the department conducts a biennial international scientific conference “Intellectualization of Information Processing”

The Research Laboratory of Computer Systems Software was created at the department in 1998.

The first edition of a scientific journal “Tavricheskiy Bulletin of Informatics and Mathematics” was launched in 2003 by the department in collaboration with the Crimean Science Center of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciencehttp://tvim.info

Scientific Work

Scientific researches of the department mostly concern mathematical models of decision making based on incomplete information; logical algorithms of artificial intelligence and intellectualization of information processing.

The Department is an organizer of the conference on "Intellectualization of Information Processing" which is conducted every even year in collaboration with V.M.Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Computer Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (tvim.info).

The department prepares post-graduate students on specialty 01.05.01 "Theoretical Foundations of Information and Cybernetics" and 01.05.02 “Mathematical simulation and methods of calculation”
