The Chair of the Methods of Teaching Philological Disciplines was found in March, 1968. The Chair's task was to train the qualified teachers for the schools in Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The Chair has always worked in close relation with the teachers of the Russian language and literature in the Crimea, now it gives methodical aid and improves the skills of the teachers- philologists.

The transformation of the Pedagogical Institute into the Simferopol University made the Chair's task extend. Since 1972 the foreign students are welcomed to be trained in the University /at the philological, geographical, historical and Natural Sciences faculties/.

The Chair of Methods of Teaching Russian language and literature accomplish the philological training for the foreign students. The following courses are conducted at the Chair:

Short-term courses on Russian for the instructors and students from Germany have been hold at the Chair since 1972.

At present time 12 instructors including 7 Associate Professors, the candidates of Philological Disciplines work at the Chair. The collaborators of the Chair work out the problems of the lexical and grammatical semantics, methods of teaching Russian language and literature as a foreign language. For 30 years' existence of the Chair the insturctors had published more than 300 scientific works on modern Russian language, literature and methods of its teaching at school and institution of higher education.

The Chair instructors participate actively in the scientific conferences between the institutions of higher education and take part in activities.

The Chair is in touch with the Chairs of Russian language of the Moscow State University, Saint-Petersburg, the Kiev University, A.S.Pushkin Institute of the Russian language, the Russian University of the Friendship of Nations /Moscow/ and others.

The scientific-methodical conferences on problems of the methods of teaching Russian in the University and school, on perfection of matter and methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, on problems of lexicography studies.

Many instructors of the Chair are experienced in teaching Russian abroad. The Associate Professor A.Solovyova had been the Chief of the Chair since 1968 till October, 1989. And then the Associate Professor T.A.Yashchenko - since October, 1989.

The teaching Russian for foreign citizens is the grave direction in the work of Chair. Different curricula are formed on the ranks of this direction:

Scientific interests: the functional- semantic causation field. Together with M.V.Vsevolodova, thev professor, she published the monograph "The Relations of the Causation and Result in Russian"/Moscow, 1988/.
Titarenko Elena Yakovlevna- Associate Professor

Scientific interests: the theoretical problems of Russian aspectology, the methods of expressing the repetition of action in Russian language, the problems of the semantic structure of the verbal, the composing of the vocabulary of the phasal paradigmatics of the Russian verbs.
Novikova Tatyana Yuryevna- Associate Professor

Scientific interests: the theoretical and practical problems of the Linguistic Cultures Studies, the perspectives and reserves of the audio- visual method of teaching, the new original approaches' quest for its usage. There had been created: the audio- visual course for the linguistic studies named "The Cinema, Time and We" /the computer version of the educational manual/, "The Crimea, enigmatic and beautiful" /Area Studies educational manual/, "From the Anquity to nowadays: Russian customs, traditions, art, handicrafts" /the material for the reading and speaking/.
Balashova Irina Georgievna- the Assistant

Scientific interests: the methods of teaching Russian at school. There had been published the educational manual for the scholars in 5th class in public school /together with G.U.Bogdanovich/
Sokolova Irina Gennadyevna- the Associate Professor

Scientific interests: the lexicology problems, the methods of teaching Russian language and literature for Russian and foreigners, the learning and teaching Polish language. The educational manual for the foreign students-specialists in Russian philology is published.
Koltuhova Irina Mikhailovna- the Assistant

Scientific interests: the methods of teaching Russian literature at school, the elements of the linguistic-stylistical analysis at the Literature Class, the actual problems of the fiction text's analysis in methods RKI.
Lantukh Natalya Andreyevna- the Assistant

Scientific interests: ethnic functional-semantic description of the nouns with integral meaning "boundary", the category place "boundary" in the nations of the world, Linguistic Cultural Studies' analysis of the folk genres.

We hope the problems arisen in these films will interest all those wishing to see them.

We invite you to speak up different topics. There is a large number of problems to discuss: these connected with the main heroes' actions along with all peoples'. Specially composed assignments provide natural entry into spontaneous speech.

The duration of the cinama course is 54 hours.

Everybody can use it: as those fluently speaking the language, so those starting to study Russian and has only the preparatory linguistic training. The structure of the cinema course gives the possibility to choose: you can choose either one or several films.
