HISTORY
Department of Mathematical Analysis is the oldest department of the university. Earlier it was headed by astronomer and mathematician I.F.Sckvortsov, assistant professor B.A.Manzon, assistant professor Sh.Sh.Soutusheva, assistant professor V.D.Andronov. Since October 1981 department has been headed by professor N.D.Kopachevsky.

RESEARCHES
Department researches up-to-date problems of mathematical and functional analysis, and uses methods of the linear operator's
theory of the solid media mechanics. The results of these researches are presented in numerous articles and the monographs
written by N.D.Kopachevsky. and coauthors:

CONFERENCES
Since 1990 the international mathematical conference has been annually held - the so-called Crimean Autumn Mathematical  School (KROMSH)- the symposium on spectral and evolution problems. The proceedings of the conference are published. The  participants of the KROMSH are the leading mathematicians from CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and the Western
Europe.
