Chairman was V.N.Skrydlov, the assistant professor (1971-1976), V.F.Ignatenko
(1939-1998), the professor, Ph.D (of Physics, Mathematics) was the Department
Chairman from 1976 to 1998.

Specialization of the department: Geometry and Topology. The basic theme
of scientific research works "Algebraic and Analytical Methods in
Geometry; Differential Geometry": geometric theory of invariant of finite
and infinite groups generated by reflections, special complexes
in three- dimen- tional Euclidean space, questions of computer geometry,
connected with the invariant theory, the history of Mathematics,
methods of teaching Mathematics.
