HISTORY

The Dpt of Differential and Integral Equations was founded in 1973. During the period of its foundation professor Y.I.Chersky was the head of the Dpt. Since 1990 the head of the Dpt has been professor S.K.Persidsky.

RESEARCHES

As soon as Professor S.K.Persidsky and associate professor O.V.Anashkin set to work at the Dpt, a close research of the theory of stability has begun | asymptotical methods of the theory of stability, system stability with little pertubations (associate professor Anashkin O.V.), investigation of stability by the direct method of criteria of sign definition of similar multinomials in
cone x>0 of space and their supplement to the theory of stability, system of Vazhevsky
(professor Persidsky S.K.), Researches of the theory of stability and qualitative theory of differential equations in functional spaces are carried out by Belan E.P. an assistant professor. Scientific works of integral solution methods equations of the first sort the supervisied by assistant
professor Lukyanenko V.A. have great scientific and applied significance.

COURSES

According to the scientific researches the Dpt holds regularly an international mathematical workshop "Method of Lyapunov functions and its application" in the Crimea (1993, 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2000 - chairman of Organisation committee - professor Persidsky).
Famous Ukrainian and foreign scientists, who work in this field, take part in the work of the workshop. Fifth Crimean Workshop on the Method of Lyapunov Functions and its Applications will be held in Alushta, 5-13 September, 2000.
