Law Faculty.

At present there are three Departments at the Faculty:

• Department of Theory and History of State and law and Constitutional law.
• Department of Criminal and Civil law.
• Department of Economic law.

The Department of Science of Law was founded in 1992 in connection with the appearance of a new speciality "Jurisprudence". The Law Faculty licenced at Ukrainian Ministry of Education was founded in 1995. There are 9 professors and 10 assistant professors (4 of them are candidates of juridical sciences, 1 of them is a doctor of sciences), chief executive officers of Supreme Court, of arbitration tribunal, of prosecution office and of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea working at the Faculty.

There are 380 full-time students and 312 externat students at the Faculty. In 1995 the branch of the Law Faculty was founded in Sebastopol, with 145 students studying there.

The Faculty teachers conduct special courses of criminal law and the legal basis of solution of the ecological problems in the Crimea. The scientific- practical inter- regional conferences are regularly held at the Faculty. They are attended by superior officials of law inforcement bodies and scientists from other higher educational institutions . In 1996 at the scientific practical conference dedicated to the Day of Law in Ukraine the theme " Constitution of Ukraine and formation of a legal State" was discussed. The Faculty maintains close scientific relations with many Universities and scientific institutions of Ukraine and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, first of all with Kharkov National Juristic Academy and Kiev State University. There exists a League of Law Students at the Faculty which is a member of the Ukrainian association of Law Students. The training of students is carried out on the speciality " Jurist specializing in the economic-legal sphere".
